CASTLE COVE HOUSE
The interiors of this very special house were originally designed by the doyenne of design Marion Hall Best in the late sixties.
Since then I have maintained the integrity of the design while keeping the house up to date for the changing needs of the family as they grew from toddlers to adults with their own children….who now love to visit their grandparents.
Marion Best was famous for her exciting use of colour…particularly with a glossy paint finish called “glazing”. As fashions changed most painters lost the art of glazing. My very talented painter, Terry Muscat, worked with me to achieve the effect again and we’ve been able to restore the original jewel like colours of the house.
My clients also have a major art collection including some rare aboriginal pieces, Displaying some of these items was difficult until I was introduced to Raffi from All Plastics. He has made beautifully detailed museum quality Perspex cases to hold these precious items.
It is one of the most satisfying parts of my job to work together with true craftsmen like Terry and Raffi…think tanking and collaborating to come up with great solutions.
