GOSFORD APARTMENT 2

This is another Central Coast project with a fabulous view.  The apartment was in its original condition so was screaming out for a total makeover - without changing walls or plumbing or electricals.  Actually it was built in the era of concrete slab floors being the ceilings of the apartments below, so moving lights or recessing spotlights was virtually impossible.  We overcame this by removing the very dated cornices and installing a "bulkhead" around the perimeter of the rooms to accommodate lights.

We glazed the ceiling in a soft bamboo colour as a contrast with the white vertical sides of the bulkhead, which has also given the illusion of the ceiling being higher.  Black walls are a wonderful background for the colourful artwork and create a feeling of tranquility.

My signature architectural mirrored wall has been a triumph as has been my favourite sisal floor covering.

This apartment is a really good example of giving a very solidly built and well designed layout a new lease on life.
